The Valtech Group is responsible for obtaining and processing your personal data and attaches great importance to the protection of this information. According to the “Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming en de Belgische Privacywet” you will find all information in this privacy statement of how we protect the privacy of candidates; customers; suppliers; as well as other parties or people we enter in contact with.

This privacy statement is applicable on site and in every place where Valtech Group services are offered. This statement by no means doesn’t cover the privacy policy of other websites through which is referred to by hyperlinks to Valtech Group and for which Valtech Group is not responsible for. This is not the case for the companies that do belong to the Valtech Group; viz. : Valvan Baling Systems; Ad Rem; Rentec ; Motus Handling (both department Menen and Roeselare); Gualchierani Baling Systems; Cretes; Vaskon (both department Menen and Oudenaarde); Valvan Containers and Milieutechniek; Union; Allhydro; Haeck Subcontracting and SedActa.

2.1. Automatic collection of data and cookies

We use cookies on our websites. The new EU-legislation demands that we inform you how we use cookies. Below text explains what cookies are and why we use them on our website.

What are cookies ?

Google must keep to the Safe Harbor Principles and is assigned to the Safe Harbor-program of the American ministry of Trade. This means there is an appropriate protection level for the processing of eventual personal data.

2.2. Which data are collected ?

By personal data we mean all specific information regards to a natural person that can be identified.

In view of applications the Valtech Group receives; we save among others following personal data : first name; last name; age/date of birth; gender; civil status; nationality; e-mail address; telephone and/or cell phone number; address; study areas ; schools; diploma and education; (desired) function; career; current employer; knowledge of languages; preference of contact; additional information we receive from you….

Here are included all personal data given with regards to a job application procedure (application interviews; selection tests and ability or other tests).

For the preparation and/or execution of the contracts the Valtech Group has with prospects; clients and suppliers (contract parties) ; we keep identification data; address; contact person and financial data.

2.3. In which way do we gather this information ?

We gather information of candidates; prospects and contract parties (e.g. customers or suppliers) first and foremost by receiving this data from them personally. Furthermore we can receive this information through a third party (e.g. selection- or temp office); through online or offline media (e.g. public networks like LinkedIn) or through partners.

2.4. Processing goals and fundamental ideas

The data the Valtech Group collects are only the data which are necessary for the purposes this information was collected.

The processing of the data of the applicants is in the justified interest of the Valtech Group. This justified interest consists on one hand guaranteeing the proper functioning of the company and on the other hand maintaining and expansion of the business operations of the Valtech Group.

The processing of information of contract parties is necessary to execute the concluded agreement as good as possible. It is also possible that we use these data for marketing. The use of these data for direct marketing is in the justified interest of the Valtech Group. This justified interest consists of maintaining and expansion of the business operations of the Valtech Group.

The processing of the data of the prospects is justified out of the justified interest of the Valtech Group (amongst others direct marketing). This justified interest consists of maintaining and expansion of the business operations of the Valtech Group.

Where necessary and in compliance with the legislation and regulations; we will always ask permission to process these data.

2.5. With whom do we share these personal data ?

The Valtech Group receives the data from the applicants through the jobsite (www.jobs.valtechgroup.eu) or by mail hr@valtechgroup.eu . All respective applicants of the companies form the Valtech Group arrive at this central point and are divided amongst the concerning company. If the profile of the candidate fits for several companies within the Valtech Group; she or he can also be introduced with other companies. The management of incoming applications always happens at one central point for the entire Valtech Group.

For the central management of the applications the Valtech Group appeals to a processor (as long as necessary). The processor only uses the personal data of the Valtech Group always; only and solely for the goals descripted within this privacy statement. The processor does not use these data for other goals which are not in the interest of the Valtech Group (e.g. expansion of the own database of the processor).

Even within the Valtech Group data of applicants; prospects; clients and suppliers can be passed on or made accessible for overarching services of the Valtech Group (such as HR; marketing; spare parts department; accountancy; IT ; purchase and sales department). The Valtech Group sees to it that this information is only accessible for personnel members of the group that need this info for the performance of their job.

It is also possible that the Valtech Group shares these data with a third party such as service providers who act on our behalf (such as external consultants; business partners and professional advisors) or outsourced IT-providers or providers who store information with whom we have an appropriate processing agreement (or comparable protection clauses)

2.6. How long do we save these personal data ?

We save these personal data during the period necessary in view of the above mentioned goals.

  • We save data of applicant five years after the first presentation of the applicant or the last contact with this candidate.
  • The information about prospects; clients and suppliers is kept as long as necessary to guarantee the proper management of the Valtech Group. This is needed amongst others to offer a good after sales service and to further expand customer relations. Obviously the Valtech Group deletes data from prospects; clients and suppliers if they explicitly request this.

3. Rights of the users

If we process personal data, the person concerned has several rights. The person involved can always contact the Valtech Group about this on privacy@valtechgroup.eu. We do our utmost best to fulfil your request as soon as possible within the term and conditions prescribed by the legislation. Generally this term is a month, but can be extended under certain conditions.

It is possible that we save a record of our communication with you to enable us to solve eventual problems that you report.

It is important that the personal information we have about you is correct and current. You can always inform us of changes during the time that we save your data.

3.1. Right of limitation and objection to processing

You can object to the processing of your personal data when we base ourselves on our justified interests or when we send you direct marketing material. If you appeal to this right we will stop our activities. If we base ourselves on our justified rights we can only stop the procession if :

  • We can prove that we have compelling; legal grounds for the processing that override your interests
  • We are processing your data to start; execute or defend a criminal investigation.

You can also invoke your right of limitation. This means that we can only save your data but we cannot process it :

  • Until the accuracy of your personal data is verified
  • If you resist to the deleting of your data, but the processing is illegitimate.
  • Until it is clear that the justified causes of the Valtech Group outweigh your objection to the processing of the data.

3.2. Right of transferability of the data

You have the right to transfer your personal data between processing responsible. You receive the data in a common and machine-readable form. You can rely on this right if following conditions are met :

  • It concerns personal data that have been given by you.
  • The processing is founded on your permission or the execution of an agreement.
  • The processing happens automatically (not only on paper).
  • The transfer does not damage rights and liberties of others.

3.3. Right of revocation of permission

When you have given us permission to process your personal data for certain activities; then you can withdraw this consent at any given time. In this case we shall stop the activity for which you have given permission. Only if the Valtech Group thinks there is an alternative reason to justify the continuation of the processing of your data for this goal; the processing will not be stopped. If this is the case; we will notify you about this.

3.4. Right to delete data

Under certain circumstances you can request the Valtech Group to delete your personal data; viz. :

  • The personal data are no longer necessary for the purpose they have been collected and processed;
  • You withdraw your permission for processing and this processing is not based on another legal ground;
  • The personal data have been processed illegitimately
  • When it is essential to delete the personal data to meet the legal requirements as processing responsible
  • The Valtech Group processes these data because we find it imperative for our justified interests, you object against this processing and the Valtech Group is not able to prove the heavier outweighing grounds.

3.5. Right of access and improvement

You can ask us at any given moment which information we keep about you. Furthermore you can ask to complete and correct these data.

It is possible that we ask to verify your identity. We will charge no cost for your right of access unless your request is obviously unfounded or excessive. Also if you ask extra copies of this information, we can charge you a reasonable administrative fee if this is allowed legally.

Under certain circumstances it is possible that we decline your request. If we decline your request; we will always explain why we do this.

3.6. Right to file a complaint with the data protection authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit)

If you think that the Valtech Group is not respecting the privacy regulations; you have the right to file a complaint with the local supervisory authority; viz. the Belgian data protection authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit).

4. Safety and confidentiality

The Valtech Group takes fair and appropriate steps to preserve and protect the integrity; confidentiality and availability of the personal information we have against abuse; loss and unauthorised access. To do so we have taken both technical and organisational measures. The Valtech Group and its employees respect the privacy of all concerned and keep these data confidential.
